The Air Force Academy is both a military and civilian university.  It is home to the 10^th Air Base Wing which supports all base activities, such as personnel, medical, security, etc.  There are 2 schools on base; Douglas Valley has Kindergarten through Grade 5, and Air Academy High School includes Grades 9 through 12.  Middle School students attend Eagleview Middle School which is a few miles to the south of the base.

The Academy has a Commissary located west of the Base Exchange and is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 9AM to 7PM, Saturdays 8AM to 7PM, and Sundays 10AM to 6PM.

Other services on the base include Air Academy Bank, a full service credit union, and a thrift shop is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:30AM to 2PM.
